I can’t believe it’s aleady April! I feel like this year is just flying by… it seems like only yesterday I made my New Years Resolution!
Summer is just around the corner and to help you get into Bikini shape in time for those hot summer months, I’m going to let you in on a few of my fav super-toning foods! I like to call them my “Bikini Bites”, because adding these foods to your healthy diet & pairing that with a regimented workout plan, will get you in perfect shape for the summer!
Here you go!
Lean Chicken Breast: If you’re looking to tone and sculpt your body into fine, toned shape- you have to eat to feed your muscles! The stronger your muscles are, the more calories you will burn, and the quicker you will burn them! Try to add approximately 20g of protein to each of your meals. Grilled chicken breast is a great addition to your diet, because it’s low in fat and high in protein.
Salmon: Salmon is stacked with omega 3 and 6, calcium, selenium, magnesium, niacin, vitamins A, B12, and C (amazing right?) and eating a portion of three times a week is a sure fire way to get to healthy skin and a gorgeous toned body!
Eggs: Eggs are an awesome low-calorie source of protein! Keep in mind that egg yolks are quite high in saturated fat, so ideally go for Egg Whites (that’s what I do!) The egg whites are much lower in fat, and an amazing source of protein! Add some veggies like bell peppers, tomatoes and onions and you’ve got yourself a very healthy, protein rich omlette!
Cottage Cheese: Dairy products, like cheese, are good sources of protein and calcium, but the downside is that most of these are super high in saturated fats- a big no no when you’re trying to sculpt and tone your body! Cottage cheese however is an awesome low fat, high protein alternative. Healthy and yummy!
Spinach: Spinach is a leaf/ vegetable you have to add to your diet- it’s awesome for so many reasons! Not only is Spinach high in fiber (keeps you feeling fuller for longer) but it’s high in iron and vitamin C, (both produce collagen). Collagen is a form of protein that makes skin and muscles look toned and elastic.
Blueberries and Raspberries: Berries are stacked full of antioxidants, helping your system to get rid of harmful toxins in the body, and they too, like Spinach, help increase skin toning collagen in the body!
