A lot of the time people focus so much on cardio cardio cardio, that they forget to tone & strengthen their muscles with a balanced weight lifting routine! Now, don’t get me wrong. cardio is key to burning off those calories…. But if you want to get those chiseled arms & those toned defined legs, then you are going to have to add some simple weights to your exercise routine.
The benefits of strength training are endless; it helps you lose weight, increases your energy, tones your muscles & overall just helps you look leaner! People always shy away from weights because think that weight lifting is going to make them look big & bulky… but this is not true if you’re only using light to medium weights!
How can you add strength training to your exercise plan? Simple! Incorporating some basic exercises like crunches, squats, lunges, push ups & pull ups is a great way to start! Also, don’t be afraid of free weights & kettle balls.
